Little Brian Authors and Illustrators

We’ve had our first experience of working with famous faces! And what a fab one it was.

Our Paint Sticks went on a little tour to Brighton Open Air Theatre along with several famous authors and illustrators as part of the Lifeboat Fundraiser event.

Emily Gravett, illustrator of Bare and the Hare books, Tim Hopgood, author and illustrator of Walter’s Wonderful Web, Guy Parker-Rees, illustrator of Giraffes Can’t Dance, Anthony Browne, the Children’s Laureate from 2009-2011 and Axel Scheffler, illustrator of the famous books The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom all pulled out their Paint Sticks and drew/painted in front of large audiences.
The creations were simply amazing and were later auctioned off to raise over £14,000 for The School Bus Project, which aims to help people through the current refugee crisis by converting a double decker bus into a classroom.

The charity also takes teachers into the refugee camps in Europe to provide support and education to the children there.

It’s fair to say we were extremely proud, our Paint Sticks were in the hands of some of the best illustrators in the country but also helping raise funds for a vital cause.

At Little Brian, our experts may be the kids but if we’re honest, adults love us to.

The fun they can have with the Paint Sticks has been proven and Emily and her friends definitely agree!
